Freshie Mentorship Program
2024 marked the first year of FreshIE, a program designed to increase freshman involvement in IISE through upperclassmen mentorship pairings and interactive activities. Freshmen mentees meet with their mentors on a bi-weekly basis to discuss a wide variety of topics, ranging from scheduling advice to career opportunities. Large group events held throughout the gave freshmen the chance to hear from Purdue IE faculty and connect with their peers.

IISE Cookout
On August 20th, IISE held a cookout networking event to kick-off the semester. The event featured free Jimmy-Johns sandwiches, yard games, and info-tables from several industrial engineering students. Many Purdue IE faculty attended, including professors, advisors, and the department head. This was a fantastic opportunity for students to learn more about industrial engineering at Purdue, and many took advantage of it.
Fall 2024 Board Retreat
At the beginning of every academic year, IISE hosts a board retreat to develop a sense of community amongst board members. Returning board members reconnected with friends through a variety of fun activities. Additionally, this event gave new board members a chance to get to know their fellow IISE board members. Attendees enjoyed several fun games, including volleyball, corn hole, and tug-a-rope!

Saint Jude's Philanthropy Event
On Friday November 7th, the Community Engagement Committee held a philanthropy event to raise money for St Judes Children's Hospital. Purdue students and faculty showed their support by coming to the booth throughout the day. The event was highly successful, and over $600 was raised!
