Serving on the Leadership Board provides a unique opportunity to contribute to IISE's programs. Depending on your committee, your tasks may involve running, organizing, or promoting specific IISE events. Regardless of your position on the board, you will gain valuable leadership skills during your time as a board member.

In addition to boosting your resume, being a board member is a lot of fun! From board retreats to weekly meetings, there are plenty of occasions to get to know other industrial engineering students.

It's important to note the commitments required of a board member are more than IISE membership - but it is a great combination of professional development and social opportunities!
To be considered for an IISE Leadership Board position, please fill out the application form by the appropriate due date. The application consists of several questions and an essay. You will also need to submit your resume. The final part of the application asks for you to rank your committee preference - spending some time learning about IISE's various committees is a great way to get some information on them before starting your application.

After reviewing the applications, some will be selected for a second round of interviews. The interview is focused on learning more about you and your ideas to improve our organization.

IISE accepts new board members every semester, so if you were not accepted when you first applied, you will be able to apply in future semesters.

Applications for the Fall 2025 semester are now open and will close on September 5 at 11:59 PM ET.
